Adding New Partition in Windows 7

 We can manage disks and partitions on windows 7 by following below simple steps.

Step 1: Right click on My Computers (Computer in windows 7) and select "Manage".

Step 2: Then Select "Disk Managerment". This will open below window, where you will be shown all existing disks and valumes/partitions.

For existing partitions, you can perform following operations.

1. Formatting disk.
2. Changing Drive letter.
3. Setting Partition Active/Inactive.
4. making Disk Online/Offline.
5. Shrinking Volume
6. Deleting Volume etc

And this will also list unpartitioned Space, if any. and will provide an option to create new volume under it.

Note: Windows 7 doesn't allow to create more than 4 Simple partitions. Howerver, you can have 3 simple partitions and  logical partitions in remaining space.
